I’m super-psyched.  Just got a job offer from Poudre Valley Hospital here in Ft. Collins.  It’s literally 3 miles from my house, as opposed to my current job which is 50 miles from my house.  So, all in all, it’s a good move for me.  Can’t wait to start.  Had a little bit of guilt when I gave my notice yesterday, but all agreed that this is a better move for me- considering the location, the pay, the benefits, and the money i’ll save in gas money (from $300/mo, to less than $100).  Sweet.

Hey all…

    So recently I went for a job interview at the local hospital to be the Speech therapist there.  Super intimidating interview, let me tell ya.   Anyhooo, long story short, I got an offer from them today.  Haven’t discussed salary yet, but it doesn’t really matter at this point because anything will be better than having to drive 45 min one way to work and put 100 miles on your car a day.  Best part?  The hospital is called Poudre Valley Hospital.  That’s right, folks….. POODER.  Ha.  Sounds so wrong, doesn’t it?   Love it!

So, I got a flight to come home.  I’ll be flying into Manchester on 9/22 around 11 pm or so, but will be home that Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  Then I fly back to Denver on Monday afternoon.  Let me know who’ll be around!

   So far Colorado is going great.  We got a new puppy and named him Fenway.  He’s a yellow lab, and is about 3 months old right now.  I’m thinking about trying to come home to NH in early October for at least a 4 day weekend.  So if you all are around, I’ll let you know as soon as I figure it out.  I’m still working up in Cheyenne, which is about a 45 min commute one-way.  I’m getting REALLY tired of the commute, and have had a few interviews with a private practice speech-pathologist here in Ft. Collins.  I’ve also interviewed at the local hospital for a full time SLP position, and am waiting to find out what they have to say.  In any case, I have a feeling that we’ll be coming back to the east coast next year around June.  Brian will most likely be going to NC State for his surgical residency at the veterinary school, so at least flights will be cheaper to fly home!!!!  Anyway, I’ve gotta run.  Catch up with you all later!

Hi all,

Just wanted to update you on what’s going on right now.  Brian and I will be moving to Ft. Collins, CO, during the last week of May.  I just recently accepted a position as a Speech Language Pathologist at a rehab facility in Cheyenne, WY, (about 40 min north of Ft. Collins) to start on June 1st.  Brian will be starting his veterinary surgical/medical internship at CSU’s Veterinary Hospital on June 20th.  We just rented an awesome house in northeast Ft. Collins, and are anxious to get out there!  If anyone wants to come and visit, you are more than welcome.  We’ll have 2 extra bedrooms, so there will be plenty of room.   To all of you in Florida, I’m finished with grad school now, but will be flying back to Ft. Lauderdale on June 24th for my graduation which will be that weekend– I definitely want to see all of you!
